Robert E. Gregory, Jr.

Vice Chairman

Rob was born and raised in Greenville, SC, and currently resides in Landrum.  His impressive academic credentials include graduation from Harvard Business School, the University of South Carolina School of Law and Wofford College where he also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree.

Mr. Gregory’s wide and varied career includes serving as President of Lee Company and VF Corporation, the world’s largest apparel company.  He has served as Chairman and CEO of Gitano, Inc. and London Fog Corp. and has acted as an advisor to many other companies on behalf of private equity and creditor groups.

Currently, Mr. Gregory is a partner with PrimeGenesis and serves as the senior advisor to Stone Tower Capital Partners, one of the largest private equity firms in the country.  Mr. Gregory has served on the Board of Directors of almost twenty corporations, including NYSE companies, VF Corp., United Missouri Bank, Promus Hotels, USF@G Corp., Frisby International, London Fog Corp. and Gitano, Inc.  He has spoken widely at leading business schools and conferences on the ethics and responsibilities of Board members.

In addition to his business responsibilities, Mr. Gregory has devoted a significant amount of his time to many national and local charitable and religious organizations.  He has served on the board of the Spoleto Festival and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wofford College and the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation.  Mr. Gregory has been recognized for his business and charitable achievements by receiving numerous awards ranging from the National Educational Volunteer of the Year to being honored by the State of Israel for promoting religious and diversity tolerance.
