The Spartanburg Community Indicators Project
Since 1989, The Spartanburg County Foundation has used the insights gained through The Critical Indicators to measure progress and identify concerns in Spartanburg County. Now known as The Spartanburg Community Indicators Project, The Foundation has developed a framework that utilizes assets from the public, private and nonprofit sectors to deal with the issues that impact the community's growth, health and quality of life. Updated every three years, the report encourages dialogue among citizens to bring about positive change. From social infrastructure to business and workforce development, we continue to use the knowledge gained from Indicators to properly focus resources where they can accomplish the most good.
Strategic Spartanburg: Community Indicators VI
In our most recent edition, Strategic Spartanburg: Community Indicators VI, our partnership with United Way of the Piedmont, Spartanburg County government, and USC Upstate has helped us to more quickly and accurately identify and study the key human service and social issues affecting Spartanburg County. The document outlines 10 community-wide goals to benchmark Spartanburg's progress.

Community Improvement Plan (2006-2010)
A companion document to Community Indicators VI, the Community Improvement Plan (2006-2010) was released in January, 2006. This document is the culmination of more than 300 Spartanburg citizens who examined community issues and developed strategies to address them. The plan outlines action that would produce measurable impact within 5 years and significant impact within 10 years for each of the 10 goals identified in Community Indicators VI.
